      Peugeot 1934 : 401

      Peugeot 1934 : 401

Unveiled at the 1934 Paris Motorshow, the 401 was seen as a bigger 301, whose engine had been bored to 1.7 litres (44 hp). It was positioned in the Peugeot range between the 301 and the 601. The car was available with a wide variety of body styles, eleven in total, including the superb roadster and Eclipse transformable cabriolet. Robust and economical, it was built for only one year despite its qualities, as it would have to leave the way for the 402. The Parisian taxi company G7 adopted this model: its vehicles were the first to be fitted with heating and wireless radio.
